second story idea
Sorry for the late post but my idea about the story; a middle aged failed screen writer in Los Angles working in a local restaurant as a waiter hates where his life is going but can not do anything about it because he believes that he will finally get his big break on his new script he has been writing. The story will starts around the time he is getting the letters back from all of the agencies he had sent his work to. After the final letter rejecting his work he goes on a twisted, and drug induced journey to find what truly makes him happy, bringing him to the brink of existence and back, creating a muse which he will be able to work off of for a his new script.
Story Idea
Sorry for the late post - I left campus this weekend to follow the Strangefolk Reunion weekend (great band if you haven't heard of them) and forgot to bring my computer or iPod.
Anyways, my story is going to be about a male man, name TBD, from Vermont. He's a UPS driver. It's Christmas week - more specifically Christmas Eve - and he has to leave to do a day of shipments after a huge fight with his wife. Their marriage is on the rocks. I want the story to be a sort of...meditation/reflection that the driver has about his family. He's driving in a blizzard - maybe he gets lost, or drives off the road and goes missing for a few days? Trapped in his truck, regretting the fight, reminiscing about his life, missing his family, etc.

The direction after this can go many different ways. I might split the POV and tell the story from the wife's eyes while hes missing? Since this is late, I'm not sure if y'all will be checking the site, but any feedback/suggestions would be great.

Second Story Idea
I was thinking of writing my story about two people who meet when they move next door to one another in a small town. They both have come from big cities and have not found the transition to this culture very seamless. One of them, a woman, has a checkered past and left her previous location based on fear for what would happen if she stayed. The man next door to her has left his family, a wife and two grown sons for a life on his own, leaving behind his past in order to be his true self moving forward.
2nd Story Idea
My second story idea revolves around this young woman who works at a 24hr diner in a city. She is a single woman who is also 8 months pregnant and cannot afford to quit her job in preparation of the birth of her child. About six months prior she ended it with her boyfriend who was not such a nice guy. She remained in their apartment until his harassment had forced her to find her own place away from her ex lovers hateful gaze. he doesn't know where she moved to and his harassment had also stopped because of that. She wasn't out right showing her pregnancy at the time and he did not know about the baby. She didn't want him in the child's life. One night she picks up a dinner shift and goes into work. Everything is as usual until a masked man enters the restaurant holding the place up. The main character is in the kitchen resting her feet and is unaware it is happening. Then all hell will break loose but i want to let the end form itself because i'm not sure what will happen.
My Story Idea
Sophie (college age) realizes that she is not happy with her life and feels left behind. Her friends tell her about all the cool things they do and feels that she is missing out. She decides to change her life to make it what she wants it to be OR she is suicidal and feels her life used to be good and never will be as great as it once was, so there is no point in living anymore. I'm not sure exactly which direction I will go, the suicide would be more dramatic, but I think it might be too dramatic...or too cliche. Anyway, Sohpie's friend Jasmine goes through a traumatic event while far from home and calls Sophie about it. Jasmine comes home and Sophie comforts her. Sophie is the only friend left at home and therefore the only one who can be there for Jasmine. This causes Sophie to realize that she does have a purpose and her life is not as bad as she thought. If she had not been home, no one would have been there for Jasmine.
