Rubber: No Reason Intro

Great movie and cinematography... funny movie all around and well worth seeing... skip to about 1:40 for dialog

Great Dialogue

Vince Vaughn is hilarious in the break up. I love the dialogue of this scene when Vince trash talks his opponent while playing Madden NFL the video game.

I can't find the exact quote and I don't want to try and write it myself because I don't think I could do it enough justice, but I did find the trailer for the movie that does have a lot of good scenes in it anyway. I'm going home this weekend and own the movie so I'll look for it and try and post it. Here's the trailer for one of my favorite movies Pay it Forward!

Outtakes

These are some outtakes from the movie Serenity, based on the tv show Firefly.  There are a lot of great moments here but my favorite dialogue is at 2:12-2:40 and 4:48-5:13.  Enjoy!  By the way there is a lot of great dialogue in this show if you are interested.

funny scene

I'm not sure how to embed this either but here is the link. I just love the show Will & Grace!

Dialogue

I have been trying for half an hour to embed the video but I can't so I am posting it this way. It is a scene from the Princess Bride so it is worth watching.

12 Oz. Mouse - - - - Non-sense

Outrageous Fun

Dialogue - Ian

Dialogue from a scene...

Anton And you know what's going to happen now. You should admit your situation. There would be more dignity in it.
Carson You go to hell.
Anton Alright. Let me ask you something. If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?
Carson  Do you have any idea how crazy you are?
Anton You mean the nature of this conversation?
Carson  I mean the nature of you.

This is from the movie No Country for Old Men.
This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie because it is the only time the main villain is told, face to face, that he's crazy.

Dialogue

I hope someone else has watched Flight of the Conchords or knows their music. I absolutely love them and this is a clip from my favorite episode. Enjoy.

Dialogue Example

The Mighty Boosh are my all time FAVOURITE. Feel free to stop watching at 4:30. Those first few minutes or so are the example I wanted to post. I highly recommend everything these guys have ever done, though.

Great Music Video! Cosmic Love-Florence and the Machine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EIeUlvHAiM&ob=av2e

Story idea

My story so far is about a teenage girl that's an art student at a prestigious arts school in New York City. When she's not painting pictures, she is stealing from many clothing stores around the city. I'm talking big name designers in the city. The type of stores where it is hard to find anything under $100. There is one jacket(or theft situation) that she steals that makes her have a sudden realization that she has a problem with shoplifting. I don't know how I'm going to make this realization real huge, but I do have some ideas I just want it to be a surprise.

my story

Dan Muscoy has just return from Iraq after his second tour of duty in four years and he is dealing with some emotional problems from what he had seen there. Distraught by life back in his hometown of Kernville, CA he begins to have small confrontations with his wife. These small fights soon turn into bigger ones over time creating more tension. To add the "cherry on top" his wife Diana has just found out she is a month pregnant, scaring not only her, but Dan as well. Things only get worse with Dan bottling up his emotions and having outburst throughout the story due to post pardum depression.
MY STORY

Two best friends, Jordan and Lee have been waiting for as long as they can rememeber to be old enough to enter the summer carnivals go-cart race. This summer the boys will finally turn 14 and be old enough to enter, but the only thing standing in their way is the money to buy the go-cart. So the two best friends make it their mission to stop at nothing to make enough money. In this friendship Jordan is the obvious leader, every move the two make seems to be a plan the Jordan concocted, while Lee will always follow with a religious devotion. Their mission makes this a summer they will never forget, and changes them in ways they never saw coming.

Lee will tell the story many years in the future, as he tells his kids about the summer that was.
Okay, so I've been going over many ideas for my story and I think I found one, but I need help! I was playing with the idea that a boy with cancer has been in the hospital for a while and his doctor has become a sort of mentor for the boy. The boy and the doctor love playing chess (going to be a metaphor for cancer spreading). Somewhere along the line the boy asks the doctor to help him achieve a goal he has been wanting for a while, but that means they have to leave the institution (not sure what the goal is yet). Basically what would happen later would be that the reader would see that there is a search for TWO escaped patients. The reader starts to understand that the doctor has cancer as well, but the boy is still unaware. (hints that the doctor has cancer will be dropped throughout the piece, but the reader will not start putting it together until the moment where the police announce the search for two patients). At the end, the doctor would pass away and the boy would go visit his grave and leave a white chess pon there. I know the last part doesn't make sense yet, but I can't give ALL of it away! If anyone has any ideas to add that they wish to share, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

My Story Ideas

Idea 1: The story is from the point of view of a man in his mid twenties to early thirties. He is getting ready to propose to his girlfriend. He spends the whole day getting things ready for her. He plans this whole romantic evening that any girl would love, but when he pops the question, he is turned down. The man is furious at her denial and ends the relationship, badly.
Idea 2: Another story I was thinking (equally or possibly even more depressing) is a story about euthanasia. My main character will seem fairly depressed in the first place, his life will seem pretty terrible. Then an accident will occur, an unintentional mistake that will cause the main character to be bound to a hospital room. He will be in so much pain day after day and will request the hospital staff to just end it for him. They will refuse, (mostly because euthanasia is illegal) and the boy will be left to suffer in his awful life, with his horrid family, and now with as much physical pain as he has emotional.

P.S. HELP!

Story Idea round 2 - Ian

There are so many basic story ideas running around in my head and I'm having trouble picking! I know I want it to be exciting, but I also want it to be humorous! Or maybe I don't? Anyway, after picking my brain I think I'm going to lean towards the exciting side of all these stories... Here is what I will be going with (for now)
My main character will be male. He'll be in some sort of detention facility at the beginning of the story and will eventually break out. This will lead to a good chase as he tries to escape the prison guards and his previous life inside the walls of wherever he was being held. He will probably break out with an accomplice or two. Once finally free the game is on to find out more about the place they were being held, and why there were there in the first place. Some truth will be discovered that will lead the protagonists to attack the facility and free the other people inside. Of course, there won't be any sci-fi scientific experiments going on inside the facility, but something "weird" will be involved in the place.
I think this might work, at least, I've always dreamed of escaping my accounting class so I think that escaping prison would be a similar affair.

Story Idea

I feel rather like a magician getting ahead of himself. I guess I'll just say *Spoiler Alert* and dive right in. So here's what I'm thinking… Very basically: A guy and a girl, nameless at this point, live together. Possibly with a larger group of friends. We'll call the guy Y and the girl X for now. X and Y are just friends. Y's parents are coming over for a visit (surprise visit?) from rather far away. Unbeknownst to X, Y has been telling his parents that they are a couple. A very involved couple. And so Y must now undergo an elaborate charade so as to perpetuate his lie. A classic, basic skeleton. I think I can work with it and hopefully get some good humor, romance, drama and all sorts of other good stuff out of it. I'm thinking there'll be a scene involving a meal (I'm thinking dinner), and possibly a scene involving a picnic? I'd like to work a paddle boat in there somewhere. I have a few endings already in mind… but I won't go into detail now. Like I said, a rather basic skeleton, but I think I can make it into something wholly my own. My one concern at this point is that it is seemingly too outlandish a setup. I hope it's not too much like a sitcom. With that worry in mind, I do know people who have tried similar schemes. I think I will just have to be careful not to take things too far into the realm of the bizarre or the outrageous. My biggest fear is that it will turn out too campy, but on the other hand I am confident in my ability to avoid this. I feel like I'm rambling. Basically, I fear this story line lends itself to campiness, but with some effort it could be the foundation for a rather grand story. In any case, as of now, this is my basic plan.

Drops of Jupiter

This song has been one of my favorites for a long time.  Train's most recent album "Save Me San Francisco" is great, but I've always been a fan of their earlier albums.  I actually got the privileged of seeing them live in concert and the lead singer touched my hand in the audience! They were amazing live!

Music Video

This song was kinda popular for a while. At least on certain radio stations. I think the video goes well with the feel, tempo, theme, etc of the song. Also, it shows an interpretation/has a story line that maybe a listener would not immediately think of. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gH2efAcmBQM&ob=av2e
